Key findings of the Belarusian household survey (July 2026)

– The Consumer Confidence Index increased by 1.4 p.p. in Q3-2026 (according to the Rosstat methodology) reaching -0.8%. The index excluding the component measuring the current state of the economy (according to the Eurostat methodology) stood at -0.2%, while the average for EU countries increased in July 2026 to -14.3%.

– Households gave the most positive assessments to their expected financial position (+9.6%) and the expected country’s economic situation over the coming year (+2%). The most negative assessments concerned the favourability of the current time for major purchases (-9.5%), the current economic situation in Belarus (-3%), and household’s financial position over the previous year (-3%).

– The share of respondents reporting a decline in income remained at 25%.

– 55% of respondents reported labour shortages in their respective sectors.
